Engr. Mohammad Abdul Awal, Founder and Managing Director of The Structural Engineers Ltd. (SEL), is a distinguished leader in Bangladesh’s construction and real estate sectors. Born in 1954, he graduated in Civil Engineering from BUET in 1977 and began his professional journey as an Assistant Engineer at M/S Rana Construction Co. Ltd., later serving as a Project Engineer at Bangladesh Consultant Ltd. (BCL).
After gaining international experience as a Field Engineer in Baghdad, Iraq under New Japan Engineering and Service Corp., he returned to Bangladesh and founded The Structural Engineers in 1983. The company became a Private Limited entity in 1987 and, after years of successful construction experience, expanded into the real estate sector in 1998.
A strong advocate of Total Quality Management, Mr. Awal received multiple professional trainings in Japan and participated in numerous international conventions on quality, management and construction. He has served in key leadership roles including President of BSTQM and President of REHAB, while remaining actively involved with respected organizations such as IEB, BAAS and BACI.
In recognition of his contribution, Mr. Awal was awarded CIP status by NBR in 2012 and has been honoured multiple times with the Tax Card as one of the top income tax payees in the engineering category. He has also served as a Syndicate Member of RUET and currently serves as President of BRMCA, along with advisory roles at MIST, AUST, UAP and UIU.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Awal is a dedicated humanitarian, supporting education, healthcare, nutrition, clothing distribution, climate relief and community empowerment. Through his schools, social initiatives and emergency response efforts, he continues to touch countless lives and inspire generations through leadership, compassion and service.

Born in Dhaka in 1953, he completed his school and college education from Residential Model School & College, Dhaka. He graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from BUET in 1977 and began his professional career at Bangladesh Shilpa Bank, where he worked for about six months.
He later joined Titas Gas Company and served there for more than four years, leaving the organization as an Executive Engineer in 1982. He then moved to Iraq and worked as a Maintenance Engineer with the Ministry of Oil & Gas for about a year.
From January 1983 to August 1984, he completed his Master of Engineering in Energy Technology from the Asian Institute of Technology. After that, he joined the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources, Government of Bangladesh, as an Energy Auditor with the rank of Superintending Engineer, serving for about four and a half years.
In 1989, he joined The Structural Engineers Ltd. as a Director and is currently serving as the Additional Managing Director. Throughout his professional journey, he has participated in various local and international training programs, workshops and seminars, strengthening his expertise in engineering, energy management and organizational leadership.

Engr. Mohammad Abdullah was born in August 1983. He completed his S.S.C. from Government Laboratory High School in 2001 and H.S.C. from Engineering University School & College, also known as BUET College, in 2003.
He earned his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Asia Pacific in 2008, with a major focus on structural design and earthquake-resistant structures. Based on his thesis, a paper was published in a workshop organized by the Bangladesh Earthquake Society, with findings that contributed to practical structural design applications within the company.
In August 2008, he joined The Structural Engineers Ltd. as a Director. He later completed his MBA from Brock University, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada in 2018, further strengthening his knowledge in business management and leadership.
Engr. Abdullah has attended quality conventions and educational conferences in several countries including Japan, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Nepal and China. In 2012, he participated in a course titled “Leadership in Global Business Management” in Japan, organized by HIDA.
He is currently serving as the Deputy Managing Director of The Structural Engineers Ltd. He is also the Director of SEL Readymix & Concrete Products Ltd. and SEL NIBASH Hotel, sister concerns of SEL, and the Managing Director of MC Elevators Ltd.

Arch. Mohammad Abdur Rahman was born in 1990. He completed his S.S.C. from Government Laboratory High School in 2007 and H.S.C. from Engineering University School & College in 2009.
He graduated from the Department of Architecture, BRAC University, Dhaka in 2014. His thesis was titled “Rethinking Urban Recreational Space Through Vertical Expansion,” reflecting his interest in innovative urban design and forward-thinking architectural solutions.
Immediately after graduation, he joined The Structural Engineers Ltd. as a Director in February 2015. In August 2022, he was given the responsibility of Additional Deputy Managing Director of the company.
Arch. Rahman is known for his dedication, hard work and innovative mindset. Innovation remains at the core of his professional vision, guiding his approach to architecture, design and development.
He has travelled to many countries around the world and attended the Architects Exhibition on Building Materials held in Malaysia in 2015, further enriching his exposure to global architectural practices and modern building solutions.
